Former ANDIS Head Denies Corruption Charges

Buenos Aires, November 19 (NA) — The former head of the National Disability Agency (ANDIS), Diego Spagnuolo, declared this Wednesday in the Comodoro Py courts, stating that he "had nothing to do with the charges" against him and anticipated that he would "review the case in depth" once he had access to all the evidence in the file. Spagnuolo's lawyer, Mauricio D'Alessandro, indicated this as he left the courthouse. "Spagnuolo also said he will testify again once he has read everything," the lawyer added. The case began when recordings emerged in which Spagnuolo allegedly stated that there was a bribery circuit surrounding the purchase of medications for people with disabilities, which led to his removal from office. The judicial investigation focuses on the alleged bribes paid in connection with the purchase of medications for beneficiaries of the Incluir Salud program, which is for people with non-contributory pensions and has medical coverage.
